Albany officials announce new waste reduction & reuse program ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The City of Albany has announced a free community event aimed to reduce waste that ends up in the landfill. Drop It - Swap It is a reuse program where the public can bring clean, reusable, portable items such as clothing, housewares, games, books, & toys that they no longer need. Individuals can take anything that they find. Drop It - Swap It will be held at the Metropolitan Baptist Church located at 105 Second Street in Albany. The event runs from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 24. Residents do not need to bring an item to take something.

Member of Queensbury VFW accused of stealing over $15K QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Glens Falls man was arrested and is accused of stealing over $15,000 in funds from the Queensbury Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, Vassar stole over $15,000 in funds meant for construction projects at the VFW building. Deputies say Vassar was a member of the Queensbury VFW. Vassar was arrested and arraigned in Warren County CAP court. He was taken to the Warren County Correctional Facility and is held there without bail due to having multiple prior felony convictions.
